Quitman Baby Shower 4-18-09

Some of my friends & family from Quitman hosted a baby shower for me last weekend.  The shower was so nice, and it was great to see more people from east Texas!  Here are a few of the photos.

Easter Weekend Photos - 2009

We spent most of our weekend relaxing and playing with Carter. He had a great time dying the Easter eggs and working his new alphabet puzzle and wrestling with Uncle Mike. (I wish I had photos of the wrestling. It was quite hilarious!)

Easter Photos at Lake Quitman 2009

On Saturday afternoon, my parents had an Easter Egg Hunt for all of the neighbors' grandkids that were visting. They had a blast searching for the candy & money-filled eggs! I saw Nicole Sturh (5 yrs old) putting eggs in her little sister's basket (almost 2 yrs old) and thought, "How sweet of her to help her little sister!") Ashley, their mom, told me later that Nicole was shaking the eggs to see if they had anything in them. If they were empty she'd throw them in her sister's basket! Oh well, it LOOKED sweet. :)

Lake Quitman Shower - April 11, 2009

Beth Aikman hosted a baby shower for me at Lake Quitman over Easter Weekend. Everything was beautiful, and the food was delicious! Thanks to Beth and Courtney for all of the work that went into it, and thanks to everyone who attended and brought such thoughtful gifts. We love you all.

Houston Baby Shower Photos

Michael's aunts and cousin hosted a baby shower for us in the Houston area last weekend. It was great seeing our family and friends that live down there. The shower was fabulous, and everyone had a great time. These are a few of the photos.

Okay, people, you've been asking for a preggo pic, and against my better judgment, I had Michael take one for you. Here I am at 8 months (32 1/2 weeks) pregnant. We had a doctor visit and sonogram today. Luke is weighing in at 4 1/2 pounds right now. (He is in the 46th percentile.) Dr. Wilson says that it's a little bit too early for him to predict how much he'll weigh at birth, but a good guess would be between 7 to 8 1/2 pounds. This could change and depends on a number of factors, of course. Everything looked good with Luke (& me) today. He has moved into a "head down" position, so he is no longer breech. We got to spy on him just doing his normal thing today. He was moving around, sucking on his hand, and we saw him breathing. We also saw and heard his heartbeat (132 beats per minute). We are right on target and getting ready for his arrival! Well, we are ALMOST ready! We still have some work to do on the nursery. (You can see a bit of it behind me in the photo.) I'll post more photos of it once we get it put together a little more. Thanks for keeping up with us. I admit, I'm not very good at updating this blog regularly, but as soon as I have something new to report, you'll hear from me. :)

It's a BOY!

On December 15, 2008 we had a doctor's visit and a sonogram and found out that we would be the proud parents of a baby boy. I was 17 1/2 weeks at this appointment. We have been working through names ever since. It's been quite a process. I suggest a name--Michael turns it down. Michael suggests a name--I veto it. It's challenging, and we still don't have a name for our little boy. For those of you asking for monogramming purposes, I promise we'll let you know as soon as we get it figured out! :)

We had another sonogram last week on January 12, 2009. This was just a follow-up scan because the technician couldn't see everything she needed to see during the previous sonogram. The baby is breech right now and has been for the last 2 sonograms, which they say is okay because he still has plenty of time to turn. It just made it a little more difficult to get good pictures. Speaking of pictures--I've added the ones we have from the last 2 ultrasounds for you to enjoy. They are precious--if I do say so myself.
